Dr. Smith and his staff help me in caring for an elderly family member. He and his office staff are so kind and patient. Always working to squeeze my family member in when an issue arises. It’s so important when trying to keep an elderly person out of the hospital where they are likely to catch something else.

Nice Doctor but way over extended with his commitments to Fairview Hospital. It would be very helpful for him to have a good NP in his office to help with the patients. His office staff (at the front desk) need a course in how to deliver good, effective, customer service. All of this is my reason for leaving this practice after I had high hopes for a doctor to treat me in my geriatric years. As a former office manager for an internal medicine practice for seven years I know what should be expected and delivered to each patient, in a kind and caring manner.

I have been a patient of Dr Smith for over 30 years. He has always attended to my needs at the time and his referrals have been to great specialists. I’m also reading negative comments about his staff and nurses, but I have never experienced that. His staff and nurses have been nothing but polite, courteous and helpful. I hope that people trust this recommendation and do not pass up the opportunity for a very professional and caring visit!!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Smith for about one year now, and have had several visits. I have never had an issue with him. He is always very nice and lets you talk.

However, the front desk could use some work. There is one lady there who answers the phone, who is very rude and condescending. I’m not sure what her title is, whether she’s an STNA, receptionist, medical assistant, or nurse. What I am sure about is she has been rude to me twice, and talked to me in a condescending way. I’m not sure exactly what the problem is. I am a respectful hardworking person and I really don’t appreciate that at all. Especially when I am dealing with medical issues. Maybe have some compassion and act like you are a caring person in the medical field.

The first time she got smart with me a few months ago I snapped back. This time I didn’t even bother. I remained respectful regardless of how condescending she was with me. Your attitude is not needed or appreciated. Maybe it’s getting too close to retirement, I don’t know.

Dr. Smith has been my physician for close to 25 years. I would not be alive if it were not for him. The criticism regarding his not being in the ICU enough misunderstands the Doctor’s duty to place patient care first . If Dr. Smith is not with a patient no doubt it’s because he’s tending to their care and treatment. If the doctor feels the need to correct a staff member, then the patient at issue was Dr. Smith’s concern and not the staff member’s feelings. I base this opinion on 30 days in CCU and five months in hospital after that.

My visits usually last all of 10 minutes, if that. I always feel as if I'm just a number. No questions about how I'm doing, problems/concerns, appetite, or sleep problems. I get my blood pressure checked, asked if I need a refill on meds and lab work/diagnostic tests, and that's it.

The last time I was there, he didn't even listen to my heart, check my breathing, or check my limbs for swelling. I guess I'm confused on the great reviews I'm seeing here. It's been that way for a while now. I guess it's time to find another doctor.

I guess it depends on who you are......

The doctor is ok but they can’t seem to keep a nurse on staff. His latest one was great but she’s no longer there. The front desk staff is EXTREMELY RUDE and unprofessional. I felt every time I called for a family member they seemed to be overwhelmed and negative. If it wasn’t for the staff, I would say this doctor is acceptable however the patient care is less than helpful. We do not feel welcomed at all. Go elsewhere.

Staff is very rude. My husband found out he was in contact with someone who tested positive for Covid. So I called asking for them to give a referral to get tested and was told they don’t do that kind of stuff. Yet when I check hospital guide lines say they need a faxed referral/prescription to get tested. The Doctor may be good but his nurse was extremely rude and not helpful whatsoever. We will be looking for a new doctor based on dealing with his staffs rudeness and lack of caring.
