I had back surgery exactly one year ago today. It was the best decision of my life to have this done. I have been pain free for a year and I have my life back to normal thanks to Dr. Gurley. I felt pretty defeated when I first saw Dr. Gurley, but he is an amazing doctor and knows exactly how to make his patients feel better. If I never went and saw him, I'd probably still be in a ton of pain. 6 plus years of having nothing but pain in my left leg, 24-hours a day, 7-days a week, 365 days a year was enough. Then I was sent to see this amazing surgeon. He is a super nice doctor, that was very informative in what exactly was going to be done during my surgery and he told me that this is going to be exactly what I need to feel better. He was not kidding. He informed me during every visit to go get a second opinion so that I knew he wasn't just telling me that I needed surgery so he can make money off of me. He knew that I would be told the same thing by other doctors. I did my research on him before I went and saw him, during the time I saw him, and right up to the day I had the surgery performed. I will always recommend him to other people to see if they need to have back surgery. His staff is also very amazing, super friendly and always smiling when you go to his office. I have never felt so comfortable going to see a doctor before in my life. I just want to thank you again for the awesome job you did on my back and for absolutely making me feel so comfortable every step of the way during this process. You are truly a great surgeon and person and you gave me my life back, so thank you!!

He is extremely intelligent and compassionate, a combination rarely seen in surgeons. He was honest with me from day one, telling me that it may even take several years to experience the full benefits of fusion. Such an amazing surgeon! Explained the procedure so well that we knew exactly what to expect every step of the way. It’s been about 2 weeks since the surgery and the rate my husband has heeled is nothing short of a miracle. Most of those who know us can’t even tell he had his back split open just 2 weeks ago! He’s lived with terrible pain for YEARS and Dr. Gurley seems to have got rid of it in 1 surgery! Can’t recommend him enough!!

Just got home from the Back Surgeon after having my MRI yesterday. It’s amazing what the human body can do (well with a couple nerve blocks!). The MRI showed the nerve openings much clearer and open then the one in February. So because of the eye infection I had during the first attempt at surgery, it postponed the operation a week which saved me from having an unnecessary surgery. Kudos to Dr. Gurley at Southwest for not just doing the surgery to make a quick buck! I cannot recommend him enough! Thanks to everyone for their good thoughts and prayers! I have literally been at the gym almost every day since I was prepped and ready to be rolled into surgery and feel pretty damn good! As much as I hate this Covid, I feel like the rest all these months may have actually helped me heal.

Dr. Jerold Gurley is AMAZING! My husband had a back surgery 20 years ago after a fall while at work. The surgeon he had did more damage that was not known for awhile. He had horrible nerve damage too. My husband was disabled from it and could not go back to work. Needless to say he went through pain pumps, nerve blocks and meds that would change his personality for worse. Needless to say we decided to have another surgeon look at him when all else failed. He could not live this way. That's when we started to do some research to find another surgeon to take a look at him. I was very reluctant to have him go through another surgery but realized we had no choice. That's when we found Dr. Gurley. After countless tests and appointments we were finally told that Dr. Gurley might be able to help him. I liked him from the start, down to earth and told you exactly what needed to be done in terms you totally understood. We finally had hope but no real guarantee.
Needless to say he did the surgery this past February and my husband is doing things I thought he would never be able to do. Its only been 11 months and our future looks so bright. This Dr. has changed our lives!
I have my husband back! Please, if you are even considering having back surgery please see DR Gurley! His hands are a gift from GOD, we truly believe this...5 stars does not give him the credit he deserves! Love this man!
