Super friendly combination Italian grocery, deli and restaurant. Many ingredients to throw together a home cooked, authentic Italian meal from appetizers, salads, entrees to desserts and limited cookware. Plus snacks and candies. Or buy sandwiches and sides from the deli or grab & go sections. Fountain soft drinks, coffees and wines here too. A lot packed in but can still get through aisles. Outdoor seating includes refreshing water misting fans. Lots of happy customers each time I’ve dropped by.

Sam's has a great selection of Italian and American fare, from deli sandwiches to wine and ingredients for the home cook and ready-made and grab-n-go food.

My favorites are the deli sandwiches and the pasta. You can't go wrong with any of the freshly made sandwiches. I recently ordered Sam's Special, London Broil Roast Beef, and Paisano Piccante, which were all delicious! There are so many options available to satisfy any hungry belly.

The staff is friendly and efficient. When you walk in, grab a ticket number and wait your turn if you plan to purchase from the deli counter.

The space is casual, inviting, and packed with plenty of items on shelves, so it can be challenging when many customers are waiting. Everyone has been patient and courteous. There's also a dine-in area in the back and outside patio if you want to enjoy your food immediately.

If I could give zero stars I would. I shop here weekly. I love their food. The counter and register staff are amazing. I purchased groceries, a hot sandwich and their peppers and sausage from the refrigerator section. It says to microwave 8-10 minutes turning once 1/2 way. Manager was called and the ops manager Laurie stepped in to my conversation with the manager I was talking to. I explained that I had tried calling but the store was already closed so I sent a message on Instagram, a second message, and no response. I stopped by the store to explain my situation. Showed the pics. Laurie the ops manager was very rude and said it’s not their fault that my microwave burned the meal. 8-10 min on high for a precooked meal should have been a huge reg flag. She said they microwave it there following those directions with no issues. I just wanted my $12 meal replaced and instead I was blamed and they would replace the meal but again it’s not their fault, it’s mine. Poor customer service. They have lost a customer for life. I don’t know the last time I encountered someone so rude. She is always there and has been off putting in conversations before but this was my interaction with her and I’m shocked. I left, told them to keep the $12 meal and I will never return.

Great find! Had a Sam's special sandwich was very good. Along with an Italian soda. Also shopped a little. The lasagna we took home to cook was very delicious,I highly recommend this place if your in the area. Canoli was awesome. The staff was friendly and great. Love the atmosphere there you feel welcomed.

Had the classic Sam’s Italian sub and it was great! The flavors were bold. The pasta salads were amazing as well.

The Italian sausage was also very good, highly recommend those as well!

If you haven't been to Sam's Italian Deli and Market, you've been missing out on some wonderful Italian delicacies. They've got an amazing deli counter with sandwiches, pasta, salads, cold cuts and so much more. You could spend hours shopping here. I had a turkey sandwich and my husband had shrimp ceviche. They were both very good. I'll definitely be back to get more goodies. Once they're in North Fresno near River park it will be easier to make it by more often.

After more than 2,200 positive Google reviews, I doubt I have anything unique to add. In sum, Sam’s Italian Deli and Market is a wonderful food oasis in the heart of Central Fresno. Weekday lunchtime is busy with customers ordering deli sandwiches and pulling prepared salads from the refrigerated section. I ordered a pastrami with everything and a salami and provolone on a baguette with mayo and nothing else. Both sandwiches were delicious. I’ve shopped here previously to pick up a nice bottle of wine. I’d like to return again and shop the desserts. The fresh cannoli and boxes of Italian cookies look so very good to me.

customer service over the phone was extremely rude. TWICE when I called there. I am trying out there food for future events. When I arrived to pick my food, mangement was being too micro manage the staff felt umcomfortable. Once i recieved my catering service, package was not presentable , it was stuffed in a small clear package.
I was able to display the contents. After clients ate some of the sandwitchs the mention meat products were old.

Thank goodness I order from Piemontes, their display Trays look presentable and those were the first things that were eaten. There is still leftover sandwiches that are clients did not eat.
Many years ago I used to order from you guys because the quality and service was great I'm actually disappointed how things have changed within 10 years.
